INDIAN NATIONAL TRADE UNION CONGRES INTUC
dlife on May 1947 as a Federation of Trên Usins by omgeus stalimaat Serter Vallabhel Peel under the lasterkip of Mahatma Gandhi and R. Janbarlal Nehra. INTUC is the part and parool of Indian National Congress Party (INC) which is dready mentioned in the ‘CONSTITUTION of 1947 adopted by the ING.
INTUC is aimed at welfare of workers, working in both the organized and unorganized sectors as well as to strengthen relation among workers, trade unions and industrialists for the economic growth of the country.
Since independence of our country Indian National Trade Union Congress and its affiliates have always been the frontrunners in all sectors/organizations. INTUC has always remained in the center stage of all major trade unіон movements in the country since its inception and has earned a bigh degree of respect among the trade union fraternity all over the world.
During the last decade some people for their vested interests ruined the name of INTUC and tried to capture whole organization by deleting the name of INDIAN NATIONAL CONGRESS from the CONSTITUTION of Indian National Trade Union Congress [INTUC) and conspiring in colluding with opposition parties against Congress. They tried to destabilize U.P.A. Government by calling All Indian strikes and staging dharnas against government with opposition-led trade unions like CITU, HMS, BMS AITUC etc. Taking the matter seriously, the senior leaders of Congress, Hon’ble Members of General Council, Delegates and eminent and veteran trade union leaders of INTUC from different parts of the country organized a National Convention at Gandhi Bhawan, Hyderabad (A.P.) on 17th and 18th January, 2012 and elected new working committee and office bearers.
The present NDA government has proposed 4.4 amendments in labour laws to empower the employers with unfettered rights to “bire and fire”, without consulting the trade unions thereby violating the provisions of ILO convention 144 on tripartite consultation and stripping workers and Trade Unions of all their rights and benefits. INTUC excpress deep concern over antiworker, antipeople and pro- corporate actions of the present government at the Centre while in pursuit of globalization INTUC delegates met all the political leaders including Frie Minister, Labour Minister and senior officials of labour department to consider our pro-labour charter of demands. The INTUC was assured to fulfill the chartar of demands in the best interest of working class people of ever country. The delegates urged for all party supported trade unions to join our banda for fulfilling the burning insues of the labourers.
